play this one. Check my feedback and you will know.

- Top - very good. There are dings but very little pick wear.
- Back and Sides - good - no cracks. Lots of finish imperfections. Customers reviewing this guitar are interested in
amazing tone quality, stability, and nice playability. Finish imperfections are of minimal concern to you guys.
- Gear head face is excellent.
- Gear head back is fair (finish cracks).
- Neck is excellent but with some minor scratches. No structural problems at all.
- Fret board was refreshed. Nice and smooth and way better than original.
- A note on side bracing. Years ago I built guitar amps, focused mainly on bass amps.
(Ever see a Gott Hammer amp? ) I noticed right away that quality stereo speakers and top notch bass
amps had bracing on the sides. If you don't brace the sides in a mahogany guitar, the sides vibrate, which
is bad. Side vibration conflicts with top vibration. Only the top should generate the tones caused by playing
the strings. Harmony realized this, but did not install enough braces. I install a lot more.
Rosewood guitars don't have this problem generally because rosewood is so much denser than mahogany.
Please note: many sellers do not accept returns. I do. I am dedicated to customer satisfaction.
This is a great guitar you will want to keep and play for years. This is not something
I just want to get rid of. Please know this is a much loved, vintage guitar with dings
and 50 years of play wear. I have done very few if any finish repairs. You are buying this
guitar for tone quality, play feel, and reliability. Most people interested in this guitar
could not care less about how it looks. Jimmy wishes he owned this!
There are some who say that the original ladder bracing sounds better than a re-braced guitar.
I think it likely they have never heard one of my guitars, or they have a ladder braced guitar to sell. But there is
more to the re-bracing question. To whit:
- Drastically improved top stability under string tension.
- Improved top durability
- Dagummit - way better sound including outstanding harmonic response!
- Removing the back allows best access and repair of all cracks
- Side bracing easily added for better sound and improved playability
- On Harmony Sovereigns especially, removal and replacing of the defective OEM bridge plate
