Excellent condition original cardboard case included
Neck was reset for excellent play action.
The Harmony H174 Classical guitars are fairly rare. With some improvements (new tuners and reset) they make very nice advanced student guitars. This one is especially nice. We removed the back and replaced the fan bracing with Hauser style bracing. It sure does sound better now. Most of the original condition versions I see are over priced. Many of them have dyed walnut fret boards. This one has the original solid ebony fret board.
One of the problems with these guitars (H173,H174,H175,H176) is the very light fan bracing. Most of those we have evaluated had some degree of bridge roll. The Hauser pattern bracing on this one will prevent that problem, though there was no bridge roll in this case.
Information unrelated to this listing: bridge roll is easily fixed by adding two additional 1/4 inch arched and tapered braces between the existing braces and clamping carefully. Do not try this at home!
