This very rare H6277 classical guitar was made during the last gasp of the Harmony company when they were attempting to drastically upgrade build quality and complete with other higher quality makers and keep the Asians at bay. It is the same model as the H177, with upgrades such as more trim on the gear head, bridge, better braces, and a better fret board. I have an H177, and this one is noticeably better. The top is as good as I have seen on a classical.
Made in USA.
This guitar was very obviously much loved and much played, possibly by a professional or performing artist. There were extensive wear marks all up and down the fret board. These are all removed. We plained the fret board to dead flat. String tension adds just the right amount of relief.
Action is set a little high on purpose as some players like it that way. There is plenty of saddle for lowering the action. We left the saddle removable. So action is currently from 3mm high E to 4mm at low E.
We did a neck reset.
Very nice condition. Neck, top, back and sides have original finish. I rate the finish as 9 out of ten. No cracks any where
Top is nice and clean with no pick wear, very minimal blemishes and is all original with no touch ups.
Gear head face is perfect with no finish missing.
Gear head back is perfect with no finish missing. This was obviously taken care of by a careful adult.
Sound is top notch. With super worn out strings, this sounds better than my Martin 00-28C. And I am p---ed about that!
Sorry about the green tape. Should have removed it before picture taking. Not hiding a problem.
There are some very shallow abrasions on the down side top near the fret board extension. Finish is all there. The binding is starting to crack, however it is still firmly attached. I can’t get binding with this color, left it as is. Don’t think it will be a problem.
