Very tatty case included. Probably is original, but don't know for sure.'
Based on other mandolins for sale around the WWW I think this is a 1900s build. Sounds OK, plays OK. Action is a little high for most people, but it is adjustable to taste.
The top had dried out and cracked at the center seam. I re-humidified then stabilized. If you keep it humidified, problem will not reoccur.
The cover plate for the tail piece is missing.
The bottom top just below the tail piece had minor damage. Repaired.
Bar frets are all original.
There is a crack in the back. I left as is.
Tuners are original. Typical of the age, they are a little stiff. Please see my tools and techniques page for an article on how to make a tool to ease tuning. Grip Cheater!
Original nut has slight damage but is fully functional. Believe this is bone, maybe ivory.
There is over spray on neck and back. None on the top.
