Stewmac Kerfing Clamp

Good clamps worth the price. I like how the jaws form fit to the kerfing angle. Nice.

Unfortunately, the o-rings supplied are just about worthless. The clamps should produce about 5 times more clamping pressure than they do right out of the box. The fix is to get a bag of number 64 rubber bands. Discard the O-rings and replace with one rubber band. Now you have serious clamping power. To help the rubber bands last, chamfer the sharp edges of the slot where the bands wrap. Use a small file to do this. (Ugh, too much work.)

Once again, I am wondering whether Stewmac employees actually test some of the products they sell.
